Our Idea

Our idea is to offer the possibility to stay in a charming place that blends tradition and modern comfort. Whether our guests are on holiday or on a working mission, we wish to propose them a smart alternative to a hotel stay and the possibility to be immersed in the vibrant daily Nepali life of the Old Patan. Being ourselves in love with the culture and its traditions, we want our guests to experience it in the best conditions.

How came the idea ?

We were quite shocked by the pace of heritage and patrimony destruction and thought it was time to react by developing modern and sustainable architectural solutions in the respect of aesthetic tradition. Being amazed by the rich architectural Newari patrimony,we got involved in promoting it through conservation projects.

In the case of our renovation projects, our goal is to offer new hospitality solutions that helps house owners to make the choice of not tearing down their old family house. We help by finding them incentive to keeping it alive and updating it. We look for sustainable ways of preserving the old structure that keep the balance between the architectural tradition without giving up on the comfort and security you expect.

We thought home-like and cosy accommodations were lacking in Kathmandu and wanted to promote nice and intimate places off the beaten track.

We are confident to propose you some of the best accommodations available around. We choose them carefully, renovate and design them to fit your needs at most. Our dedicated and multi-cultural team has a great experience in the hospitality sector and do its best to fit all your expectations.

In all our accommodations you either have access to a common kitchen or have your own kitchen inside the flat. In order to feel at home, we believe it is important to be able to cook and prepare your own things and not feel obliged to go to restaurant all the time (it’s also a great way to save money;)

We have developed a series of “experiences” that will enrich your stay if you wish to be part of it: – Yoga on the roof – Massage at your place – Nepali Class at your place – Newari Kitchen experience and cooking class at Dhakhwa House

Our exclusive net of charming accommodations guarantees you to stay in very unique places. Almost all our accommodations are located in Patan old historical city center (within 10 min walk maximum from Patan durbar square) which allows you to enjoy a truly authentic neighbourhood and helps you discover the wonderfully rich Newari culture from the inside.

We welcome you personally (in English, French, Spanish, or Nepali) and wish to be a useful intermediary for all the help you may need (maintenance, services, advices, tips). You can find someone at our Cosy Nepal office in Yatachhen House every day of the week, from 8.30 to 18.30 and you can always reach us by phone or email.

Staying in a short-term Cosy Nepal accommodation is a smart alternative to a hotel. Not only do we offer you an interesting and flexible experience with more independence, but we are also much cheaper than staying in a hotel of a similar standard. Our prices are discounted according to your length of stay Medium rate available for stay >1 month and long term rate available for stay above 6 months

All our rooms and apartments come with a specially written guidebook which we have edited specially to give you all the best tips of the area. You will also find a handbook that contains a manual of your accommodation with all you have to know (wifi code, useful phone n°, a list of our extra services -yoga on the roof, cooking class, Newari kitchen experience, shuttle, Nepali teacher-)

We have our own shuttle that can come to pick you up at the airport and bring you directly home to avoid you all troubles of dealing with a taxi. The service might save you a lot of bothers! (pick-up 15 USD, night pick-up 20 USD, airport drop-off by taxi 800 NPR)

No special booking fees: the price of your short-term accommodation includes everything except VAT (13%) and the extra services you may require.
